Westonbirt with Lasborough: An Idyllic Parish In The Cotswolds (2023)

Westonbirt’s beauty, Lasborough’s charm in the hills, nature’s symphony

Westonbirt with Lasborough

Westonbirt with Lasborough is a small and idyllic parish in the Cotswolds (an area designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1966) for families, offering plenty of outdoor and indoor activities to keep everyone occupied.

There are some fantastic pubs and restaurants, trails, local heritage and the charming Hare & Hounds hotel nearby.

In the 19th century, Robert Stayner Holford completely transformed Westonbirt Manor, and he also found the time to create one of England’s largest arboretums – Westonbirt Arboretum (an arboretum is a botanical garden devoted to trees).

To get to Westonbirt with Lasborough from Heathrow Airport takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes.

A defining feature of the Cotswolds is its stunning architecture. The area is famous for its traditional Cotswold stone buildings, which are made from a distinctive yellow limestone that gives them their unique colour.

From the grand manor houses and stately homes to the charming cottages and farmhouses, the Cotswolds is a treasure trove of architectural gems.

Visitors can explore the historic market towns of Cirencester, Tetbury, and Stow-on-the-Wold, or wander through the picturesque villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury, and Broadway, each with its own unique character and charm.
